    Southwark Libraries are proud to support new and emerging writers with the Festival of Words. The literary festival that spans across Southwark, for children and adults. The programme contains a range of cultural events including creative writers, spoken word artists, storytellers and more.

    The Winter Book Challenge runs from 3 January to 19 March 2017 and is open to children and young people from the ages of 0 to 17. Register now at your local Southwark library and collect your reading log. To complete the challenge under 12s will read 10 books and those aged 12-17 will read 5 books. This booklist offers some themed suggestions but you don't have to stick to the list - pick any book of your choice. These choices include some titles from the Southwark Book Award Shortlist 2017.
