    TV's most famous bibliophile, Rory Gilmore, reads 339 books in the course of the excellent 7 series Gilmore Girls. The books span all genres, from memoirs, novels, poetry, history, drama and essays. Though someone like Rory only exists in the fantasy world, here is how to go about being like her, Southwark Library style. Alas, certain texts are missing (e.g. Mencken's Chrestomathy) and there are some substitutions, such as different William Goodman's Neuromancer instead of Marathon Man. Otherwise, it's all there. Browse and broaden.

    Sci-Fi Series at Canada Water Library is a series of amazing science fictions and fantasy books, one from each of the last six decades, to be discussed once a month. The group will look at the novels and give fans and newbies a chance to explore great science fiction and fantasy in a friendly and informal setting.     'Feel better with a book' is a group that gives you a place to relax, a chance to make friends and a fresh way to share reading. You don’t have to read anything in advance as everything is read aloud each week. You can simply drop in, sit down and enjoy listening to a good story or poem - there’s no pressure to talk, to read, or even to drink tea! Groups take place at Camberwell Library, Canada Water Library, East Street Library and Peckham Library.
