Author note

Gillian Shields writes both picture books and full-length children's fiction, using her experience as a drama teacher for inspiration. She lives a busy life, both writing and teaching, and lives in Sussex with her family and a little brown dog, and has written a number of picture books for Macmillan.

Rosie Reeve originally trained as a fine artist, but became interested in illustrating children's books after having her own three children. Rosie has illustrated several picture books for Macmillan, including BELLA GOES TO SCHOOL (978-0-330-50956-5). Her instinctive understanding of colour brings a real warmth to her work, and her adorable, cuddly characters are full of charm.
