Welcome to Bookstart in Lincolnshire

Helping children to become lifelong readers

Lincolnshire Libraries are involved in delivering the Bookstart programme which is administered nationally by BookTrust, (the UK's largest children’s reading charity). The flagship Bookstart programme gives FREE book packs to all children at two key ages before school.

Even the very youngest baby can join the library!

Bookstart Rhymetime/Storytime

Babies and young children are very welcome at the library, and all offer FREE Rhymetime/Storytime sessions. These relaxed sessions are a great way to introduce your child to the library and all the wonderful books available to borrow. The sessions are great fun and provide a safe space to socialize with other parents and make new friends. Check out your local library’s web page for details or ask a member of staff.

Has your child received their Bookstart packs?

Bookstart Baby

(0-12 months)
All parents should receive a Bookstart Baby pack when they register the birth of their child. However if you do not receive a pack, you can collect one from your nearest library, just ask a member of staff.

Bookstart Treasure

(36-48 months)
Most children will receive their Bookstart Treasure pack from their Early Years provider, for example a nursery or pre-school. If you have not received a pack before your child starts school you can ask your local library to obtain one for you.
