Critical Collective is an initiative by art curator and critic Gayatri Sinha. Since its inception in 2011, it has collaborated closely with institutions in India and abroad to create exhibitions and seminars on art. Its purview is from ancient Indian art to the present as it covers early, medieval, modern and contemporary practices in India. The project brings together more than 150 artists, over a hundred writers and curators from India and abroad, it also initiates special projects to investigate the depths of South Asian art history. The website aims to collate writing on South Asian scholarship and foster intertextual reading between disciplines. Each month over 30,000 words of archival and current writing by leading scholars, critics and art historians is uploaded to the website
