Rebecca Thomas convicted for running a sweat shop in the Promenade, Cheltenham under the 1867 Workshop Regulation Act. Edward Brydges appointed Clerk to the Cheltenham Borough Council. It deals with the trades and their products, but also with the day-to-day lives of the protagonists, both at work and at home
