"This research project examines the extent to which the reconstruction process will allow the Glasgow School of Art's Mackintosh Library to return to its previous design before the fire. It draws upon written texts, photographs and interviews - through a series of reflections upon documentaries, artworks and theoretical sources. It will interrogate the degree to which materials and processes that were used to construct the Library in the last century can still be used to day. It will explore the issues of what is possible and what is not possible to do, at this particular moment in time. The research will also compare post-fire reconstruction with that at Windsor Castle in 1994."
